Calm, practical support when systems feel overwhelming

If you’ve landed here, there’s a good chance you’re dealing with something that feels harder than it should.

Maybe you’re stuck in a consumer dispute, facing workplace issues, trying to get traction with an insurer or institution, or advocating for a child — and despite your best efforts, you’re not being heard. The process feels confusing, exhausting, or intimidating, and you’re not sure what to do next.

This doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong — many systems are difficult to navigate by design.

Sometimes you don’t need a lawyer.
You need clarity, confidence, and someone experienced to help you take the first effective step.

If you’re feeling frozen, unsure, or emotionally overloaded, this service is designed to help you regain footing — calmly and practically.

I offer independent advocacy support for Australians who need steady guidance to navigate systems that feel overwhelming or stacked against them.

This service is based on lived experience, strong communication skills, and an ethical, grounded approach to system navigation — particularly at those early stages where a clear first step can make all the difference.

What I offer

Advocacy Support Session (60 minutes total service time)

This service is designed to help you move forward without adding more pressure.

Each session includes:

  • Up to 15 minutes of direct consultation (phone or Zoom) to understand your situation and what you’re trying to achieve

  • Review of the information and documents you provide

  • Assistance drafting or refining one clear, effective initial letter or written request

  • Practical guidance on appropriate next steps, so you know where to go from here

Much of the work occurs outside the consultation time, allowing for thoughtful review and clear written outcomes.

Ongoing support, if needed

Some matters resolve quickly. Others unfold over time.

If your situation appears more complex or requires additional work, I’ll let you know before proceeding, so you can decide what feels right for you.

As matters progress, you may choose one of the following options:

Follow-Up Letter Service – $65 (incl. GST)
Suitable when you’ve received a response and require a concise written reply.
You provide the relevant correspondence by email, and I prepare one structured follow-up response for you to review and send in your own name.
Minor clarifications can be incorporated prior to finalising the draft. If substantial changes or additional issues arise, a further service may be recommended.

• Additional Advocacy Support Session – $120 (incl. GST)
A full 60-minute session to review updates, refine strategy, consider escalation options, or work through more complex developments.

Each service is booked individually. If a matter requires consultation beyond written drafting, a full session may be recommended.

Who this service is for

This service may be helpful if you are:

  • Dealing with a consumer or warranty dispute and unsure how to escalate

  • Experiencing workplace issues and feeling intimidated, dismissed, or unheard

  • Navigating insurers, complaints processes, or administrative systems

  • Advocating for a child within education or medical settings

  • Feeling overwhelmed by paperwork, correspondence, or process

  • Stuck on how to write that first letter or formal request

Many systems and organisations are structured in ways that make issues slow, complex, and time-consuming to resolve. This often discourages capable, intelligent people from pursuing what is fair or reasonable — not because they lack skill, but because the process itself is exhausting.

This service is particularly suited to people who:

  • Don’t have the time or energy to battle process alone

  • Know something isn’t right but aren’t sure how to push forward effectively

  • Want calm, strategic support rather than confrontation

  • Value clear thinking, respectful communication, and steady guidance

This service is not intended for urgent crisis situations or ongoing emotional support, but for clear, practical guidance through specific issues.

Experience & advocacy outcomes

FocusedWork_cozy_office_CGPT_Pic_Advocacy.JPG

Over many years, I have successfully navigated and escalated complex matters across consumer, workplace, education, and institutional systems (for myself and others).

EXAMPLES INCLUDE:

2025 - Consumer & Warranty Advocacy

Led a coordinated consumer group action with a caravan manufacturer, resulting in a successful ~$30,000 warranty repair on a 12-month-old caravan. Other affected owners are now being approved through the same process.

2025

Workplace & WHS Advocacy

Successfully overturned a refusal of work-from-home arrangements due to medical needs by applying employee rights, WHS principles, and structured escalation.

2020-2021

Domestic Violence & Safety Systems

Navigated urgent domestic violence and safety-related government systems under significant time pressure, including protective orders and essential support processes. Experienced in escalating matters where delays placed safety, financial stability, or wellbeing at risk.

2024-2026

Education System Advocacy

Ongoing advocacy with school leadership and key stakeholders to ensure a child’s psychosocial and educational needs were appropriately recognised and supported.

2021 onwards

Government systems & bureaucracy

Successfully escalated urgent matters within state and federal government agencies when standard timeframes failed. In one case, a review advised to take six months was prioritised and resolved within the required 24-day timeframe; in another, a delayed sole-parent pension application was resolved within one week following escalation. These outcomes were critical to financial stability and wellbeing.

2026

Warranty Escalation (GVM Upgrade)

Successfully overturned a declined warranty claim for a GVM upgrade by escalating to interstate head office and senior warranty managers. The original refusal was reversed and the repair completed under warranty.

2025

WorkCover System Navigation

Navigated the WorkCover process to secure approval for a workplace injury claim (repetitive strain injury), managing documentation, timeframes, and procedural requirements.

2022

Separation, Divorce & Financial Administration

Navigated complex separation and divorce systems, including parenting arrangements, financial orders, and administrative processes. Skilled in managing documentation, delays, and escalation within institutional frameworks.

2022-2025

Medical System Advocacy

Advocated within the GP and medical system to secure appropriate psychological and specialist support for a child when initial concerns were dismissed.

2021 onwards

Ombudsman & Oversight Escalations

Experienced in escalating unresolved or inappropriate conduct within public and private institutions to external oversight bodies, including the Commonwealth Ombudsman and state ombudsmen. This has included securing internal reviews of Public Trustee conduct during divorce-related property matters involving caveats, as well as successful escalations across government and telecommunications systems when standard complaint pathways failed.

These successful advocacy outcomes were achieved through clear documentation, structured escalation, persistence, and effective communication.
