Equinox means ” equal ” days and nights. This is a time of balancing in our life, a time when energies come together as one – Heaven & Earth, Spirit & Matter.

Equinoxes are opposite on either side of the equator, so the March equinox is the SPRING (Vernal) Equinox in the northern hemisphere is the AUTUMN (fall) equinox in the southern hemisphere. As such whilst the northern hemisphere is preparing for their re-birth as they awaken from the sleep of winter, the southern hemisphere is bringing her energy inward, in preparation for the rest ahead. It is our polarities that make up the whole.

Doorways or thresholds into the mysteries are more easily accessed during Equinoxes (learn about the science behind this below) especially when we consciously engage this Celestial Flow or Timing. Equinoxes are a powerful time for doing ceremonial activations at sacred sites or anywhere you happen to be.  

The Astrology / Science of the Equinox 

The March Equinox is celebrated when the Sun moves into Aries and crosses the Vernal Equinox point in the sky. This means today and tomorrow we are in the precise window of the Equinox Solar energies when the Sun makes a direct path over the Equator bringing and there is an equal balance of Day and Night to both Hemispheres of the Earth.

As radiant energy from the Sun pours directly over the equator it lessens the usual strength of the Earth’s magnetic field during the Equinox days. The magnetic field moves clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and counterclockwise in the Southern Hemisphere creating a spiral magnetic effect.

Twice each year, during the equinox window, as the Sun passes over the equator the magnetic energies of both hemispheres are at their lowest potency. This means for about 24 hours before and after the exact Equinox point it is easier to connect with other dimensions of reality energizing otherworldly magic that can holistically benefit the Earth.

As such the Equinox is a powerful portal gateway to ascension into higher levels of consciousness. At this time of unity, the feminine & masculine merge as one, opening opportunities to unify duality within ourselves, and expand our awareness to greater dimensional/light octave levels.
