1. WHAT is Equinox?
Equinox means ” equal ” days and nights. This is a time of balancing in our life, a time when energies come together as one – Heaven & Earth, Spirit & Matter.
The Astrological September Equinox is celebrated when the Sun moves into Libra each year. At this time there is usually a 2-day window during which the Equinox Sun makes a direct path over the Equator, creating an equal balance of Day and Night in both hemispheres of the Earth.
Equinoxes are opposites on either side of the equator, so the September Equinox is:-
Autumnal (fall) Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere (where people are bringing their energy inward, in preparation for the rest ahead) and,
the Spring (Vernal) Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere (where people are preparing for their rebirths, as they awaken from their winter sleep).
The Astrology / Science of the September Equinox
The September Equinox is celebrated when the Sun moves into Libra and crosses the Vernal Equinox point in the sky. This means the day before and after exact equinox on 23rd September, we are in the precise window of the Equinox Solar energies when the Sun makes a direct path over the Equator bringing and there is an equal balance of Day and Night to both Hemispheres of the Earth.
As radiant energy from the Sun pours directly over the equator it lessens the usual strength of the Earth’s magnetic field during the Equinox days. The magnetic field moves clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and counter-clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere creating a spiral magnetic effect.
Twice each year, during the equinox window, as the Sun passes over the equator the magnetic energies of both hemispheres are at their lowest potency. This means for about 24 hours before and after the exact Equinox point it is easier to connect with other dimensions of reality energizing otherworldly magic that can holistically benefit the Earth.
